ardour doesn't open

X11.app is installed, jackpilot is running, and ardour doesn’t open. console says

you do not have the correct

you do not have the correct version of a software library called “curl” installed.

this is a problem with leopard and/or tiger. somehow, our build of ardour (done on leopard) depends on both curl v3 and curl v4. leopard or tiger (i wish i could remember which) has only one of those two versions.

not sure when we will do another X11 build to fix this.

there will be a new native build that is almost “recommended” in the very near future.

so…. does that mean it’s impossible for my mac to install ardour, or is there a way to have the ’correct’ version of curl??
