Session won't open; programming error

I’ll make this quick as I’ve got people coming over in less than half an hour and I can’t open the session we’re supposed to be mixing!

I’m running Ardour2 (2.1) with VST support, which I’ve compiled on a CCRMA FC6 box.

When I attempt to open one particular session, I get the following message:

“programming error: unknown region type passed to Session::add_region()”

The message shows up in an odd little window with none of the gnome desktop trappings. There’s only a “Press To Exit” button filling the entire width of the bottom of the window. Pressing to exit is the only option, at which time ardour quits.

The last time the session was opened was in February. It had loaded successfully. It would have been on whatever version was current then.

Any ideas?

Thanks for the help,

Michael

P.S. After my mixing session is over today, I’ll check through things more thouroughly and file any necessary bug reports, but for now I’ve got to figure out what the hell we’ll work on when they get here!

OK, with the help several people on IRC, I was able to delete nodes referenced in the log output:

[ERROR]: Session: XMLNode describing a AudioRegion references an unknown source id=1170880364
[ERROR]: Session: cannot create Region from XML description
[ERROR]: Session: XMLNode describing a AudioRegion references an unknown source id=1170880364

Then the file opened. I just whish it would have opened with an error as opposed to quitting.

Oh well, I’m back in business.

Thanks!

Michael
